I keep paying for tools I forgot I bought.
Last week I canceled a couple. The cancel mail showed up. The receipts were still in Gmail. Nothing in my bank feed was going to narrate that story for me.
So I built Receipt Reaper — a Grok Bot that reads billing mail (archive included), buckets what it finds, and opens an HTML autopsy.
What it does
1. Connect Gmail (read-only).
2. Search receipts *and* cancel confirmations. Cancel mail beats an older receipt.
3. Ship one self-contained HTML file: Dashboard / To cancel / Canceled / About.
4. Optional cancel-hunt: it walks you to the door and stops before the irreversible click.
It never invents amounts or cancel URLs. If mail does not have a cancel link, the button says manage in account.
Live run — Sep 12, 2026
I pointed it at my own inbox around 10:04 AM ET.
Nine accounts still looking live. Two high urgency. Fifteen already quiet. Top annuals in the shot were about $443/yr if those stayed.
The kill list that morning: X Premium Plus and SuperGrok Heavy. Both “Manage in account” — no cancel URL in those receipts.
Cancel-confirmation search mattered. Synthesia had cancel mail that day. HeyGen and OpusClip did not — I confirmed those quiet myself and the Bot recorded that honestly.
Why a Bot, not a spreadsheet
I already live in Grok Bot. Skills stick. A monthly renew watch can sit on a clock. Publishing a template means someone else can install the same job without inheriting my mailbox.
I published it as a public template on Sep 12, 2026. The share link works today. The official marketplace shelf is still curated — so the link is the real distribution until xAI lists it.
Hard rules I baked in
- Read-only. No cancel / send / trash from the Bot.
- No invent. No secrets in the HTML.
- Real local audit stamp. Never leave a demo 9:00 AM.
- Archive is included. Never `in:inbox`-only.
Try it
Add the Bot from the public share link. Connect Gmail. Run first-run, then the autopsy skill. If something looks killable, use Hunt cancel — and say yes before anything dies.
I built this for me. If it saves you one forgotten annual, that is enough.
If you like it, let me know. If you can think of a feature to add, let me know
